(I-AutoNewsWire.com, January 25, 2018 ) Autopilot system is a major component of an aircraft, which is used to operate the aircraft without any pilot supervision. It consists of four major components - the computer system, actuator, gyros, and global positioning service (GPS). The computer system is used to program the autopilot system and helps the pilots to interact with the GPS and the gyros, and transfers the data to the actuator, which then moves the aircraft. Autopilot systems enhance the aircraft control capability of a pilot and increase the cockpit efficiency by placing the aircraft in an auto-mode. It also reduces the overall operating costs. Currently, the role of autopilots has broadened significantly from pilot assistance to automated landing and taking full control of aircraft in emergency situations. However, autopilots can never replace a human operator but only assist in various operations such as monitoring the weather, systems, and trajectory.
The market is divided into the following segments based on geography: - Americas - APAC - EMEA
